Meet the Panelists

Alison Bennett

Alison Bennett is currently the women’s health/maternal heath/NICU chaplain at UVA medical center in Charlottesville, Virginia. She holds a Masters from Duke Divinity School with two certificates: one in Theology, Medicine, and Culture and one in Gender, Sexuality, Theology, and Ministry. In addition to her clinical pastoral care work, Alison is a dedicated community builder in the academic sphere, serving as the Co-Assistant Chair of the LDS Council for Mormon Studies at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Jennifer C. Lane

Jennifer C. Lane is a Neal A. Maxwell Research Associate at the Maxwell Institute at BYU. She brings a wealth of academic and administrative experience, having previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Religious Education at BYU-Hawaii. Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in Religion with an emphasis in the History of Christianity from Claremont Graduate University, and an M.A. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Brigham Young University.

Dr. Kimberly Matheson

Kimberly Matheson is the Laura F. Willes Research Fellow at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship. Her academic work sits at the fascinating intersection of Book of Mormon theology, Christian contemplative practice, and the continental philosophy of religion. Kimberly holds a Ph.D. in Theology from Loyola University Chicago, a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) in the Philosophy of Religion from Harvard Divinity School, and a B.A. in Ancient Near East Studies from BYU.
